In honour and memory
Those who kept the Beacon burning
We pay tribute to the founders, pioneers, chiefs and educators whose sacrifice built GHANASS, and to every teacher, worker and old student who has carried its light.
Mr. Fred Addae
Co-founder & Headmaster, Phoenix College
A visionary educator who, in 1943, lit the first flame with just 16 boys in a temporary building. His untimely passing did not dim the light he started.
Mr. Francis Adjei Tetebo
Co-founder & Principal
He carried the school alone through its early struggles, two relocations and a change of name. Tetebo House bears his name to this day.
Nana Frempong Mposo II
Chief of Effiduase
His foresight helped secure the land in Effiduase that became the school’s permanent home. Frimpong Mposo House honours his memory.
Rev. Dr. Nimako
First MP for New Juaben
A community leader whose advocacy made the move to Effiduase possible for a rapidly growing student body.
Mr. W.T. Wutor
Building contractor
His hands and craft helped raise the structures that housed the school during its crucial Effiduase transition.
Mr. Daniel Ofori Dankwa
First public Headmaster, 1957
A distinguished science teacher from Accra Academy who modernised the school and built a disciplined public boarding institution.
We will forever remain the Beacons of the East.
